| Firefighter Barry Noss Jr. was presented with the Mocanaqua Volunteer Fire Company Award of Valor by Fire Chief Stephen McDaniels.
Barry was recognized for his actions during a residential structure fire on August 22, 2026. During the incident, he entered the building without the protection of a hoseline, located a trapped occupant, and removed the victim under hazardous fire conditions.
Although the outcome was not as hoped, Barry acted without knowing the victim’s condition and did everything possible to give the person a chance.
The Nescopeck Township Fire Chief also attended the presentation, highlighting the significance of Barry’s actions that night.
Barry’s courage, selflessness, and commitment to duty are recognized and appreciated. |
