⏰ Daylight Saving Time = Time to Check Your Alarms!
When you set your clocks forward, don’t forget to replace the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms.
✅ Replace the batteries when you change your clocks ✅ Test the alarms after replacing batteries ✅ Replace the entire smoke alarm if it’s 10 years old or older (check the date on the back)

Install a smoke alarm in the basement. Maintain easy, quick access to your fuse box or circuit breaker panel. If you have oil, gas, or wood-burning equipment in the basement, you should also have a carbon monoxide alarm in your basement.
Keep anything that can burn at least 3 feet away from the furnace, oil burner, wood stoves, and water heater.

Pets are curious. They may bump into, turn on, or knock over cooking equipment.
Keep pets away from stoves and countertops. Keep pets away from candles, lamps, and space heaters. Have a pet-free zone of at least 3 feet away from the fireplace or a woodstove. Some pets are chewers.
