Vehicle Fire – State Route 11 Near Boat Launch

Mocanaqua Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched for a reported vehicle fire in the area of State Route 11 near the boat launch after Luzerne County 911 received multiple calls reporting a working vehicle fire.

Engine 118 Makes Quick Work of Vehicle Fire at ABC Auto Parts
Mocanaqua Volunteer Fire Company, May 04
Station 118 was dispatched with Station 144 and Ambulance 575 to ABC Auto Parts on US Route 11 for a vehicle fire. Engine 118 arrived to find a full-size passenger van fully involved. Crews stretched a 1¾-inch handline and quickly brought the fire under control. No injuries were reported, and units returned to service shortly after.... (Full Story & Photos)

Back to Back Brush Fires
Mocanaqua Volunteer Fire Company, April 16
Crews first responded to Shickshinny Borough for a brush fire involving approximately a half-acre, then were dispatched to assist Huntington Valley Fire Company with a field fire.
Engine, Brush, Utility, and ATV responded with 9 personnel.
Today’s warm, dry, breezy weather created conditions where fires could move quickly, but crews made fast work of both incidents and kept them in check.

Motorcycle Crash with Injury
Mocanaqua Volunteer Fire Company, April 11
MVFC responded with Engine 1 to the scene of a motorcycle crash on S. Main Street in Shickshinny Boro. Upon arrival, crews found the motorcycle down along the side of the roadway against a telephone pole, with EMS already on scene providing patient care.

Crews Quickly Contain Firehouse Road Brush Fire
Mocanaqua Volunteer Fire Company, March 30
Engine 118 and Brush 118 responded to Firehouse Road in Conyngham Township for a brush fire. Crews arrived to find approximately one-quarter acre burning and quickly brought the fire under control.

Train Strikes Unoccupied Vehicle Parked Too Close to Tracks

Today was a reminder of just how important it is to stay clear of railroad tracks. This vehicle was parked too close and was struck by a train. Thankfully, there were no injuries.
