Crews search the Susquehanna for a possible subject in the water.

On 06/06/2026 at 2145 hours, Mocanaqua Fire Company was dispatched for a reported water rescue in the area of the Shickshinny-Mocanaqua Bridge, Shickshinny side. Initial information was received from PSP Shickshinny advising that the report was unconfirmed; a caller reported hearing someone yelling from under the bridge and stated that a fisherman may have fallen into the river. PSP was also unable to confirm which side of the bridge the incident was on.
Water rescue boat units responded to the Union Township boat launch and deployed to the river. Boat crews conducted a search of the river in the area of the Shickshinny-Mocanaqua Bridge for any potential victims. The search included the area around the bridge and nearby river conditions. No victims or signs of anyone in distress were located.
